Mindful Theory Driving (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website mindfultheorydriving.org and the Mindful Theory Driving mobile app. This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

1. Who We Are

We are Mindful Gaming UK Ltd, operating the Mindful Theory Driving learning platform for UK driving theory test preparation. Contact: hello@mindfultheorydriving.org

  • Account data: Email address and password (hashed) when you register.
  • Profile data: Display name, selected licence category.
  • Progress data: Quiz scores, completed topics, study session history.
  • Payment data: Subscription status. Payment card details are processed by Stripe or PayPal — we never store card numbers.
  • Usage data: App events and page views via Google Analytics 4 to understand how learners use the platform.
  • Device data: Device type and OS version for crash reporting and compatibility.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To verify your subscription and grant access to paid content.
  • To save and sync your study progress across devices.
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts).
  • To improve the platform using anonymised analytics.

4. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)

  • Contract performance: Processing your account and subscription.
  • Legitimate interests: Platform analytics and security monitoring.
  • Consent: Marketing emails (you may opt out at any time).

5. Third Parties We Share Data With

  • Stripe / PayPal: Payment processing. Your card details go directly to them.
  • Google Analytics 4: Anonymised usage analytics.
  • Google Cloud Run: Our AI tutor backend runs on Google Cloud (EU region). Progress and chat data passes through it.
  • Google Gemini API: AI tutor responses are generated by Google’s Gemini model. Chat messages sent to the AI tutor are processed by Google.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and progress data while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@mindfultheorydriving.org. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict processing, and data portability. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@mindfultheorydriving.org.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for authentication sessions, analytics (Google Analytics 4), and payment processing. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings. Blocking authentication cookies will prevent login.

9. Children

Our service is intended for users aged 16 and over (UK driving theory test minimum age is 17). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Security

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
